# Meanders Aren’t Mistakes

In my earth science lab, students changed the slope of a stream model and watched what happened.  
The flow velocity shifted. Sediment transport changed. Erosion patterns reformed. Channels self-organized into new configurations.  
The stream didn’t fight the change. It found the most efficient path given the new conditions.  
**Meanders aren’t mistakes. They’re what happen when force meets time.**  
That’s what this is.

I left a Chicago corporate tower in 2022 with a plan — build a van, chase snow and gravel, document the journey, tell the stories. Not adrift. A decision.  
The trail doesn’t reward speed. It rewards attention.

Dispatches is where I put what I notice. Field notes from rides, races, and the long quiet miles in between. Reflections that don’t fit in a caption. Photos that need more than a hashtag.
